Call for Posters and Oral Abstracts for ICN 2026
The Program Committee welcomes abstract submission for poster and oral short talks at the 2026 ICN Conference. All proposals received will be reviewed by the Program Committee according to the details below.
Poster/ Oral Submission Guidelines:
- Preparing your Abstract Proposal: By submitting an abstract proposal you will be designated the corresponding author for that abstract and all communications regarding the abstract (submission, review, presentation etc.) will be sent to the email address you used to set up your account. Changes to the abstract submission can be made anytime until March 9, 2026 when the submissions close. Abstract submissions can be sent in prior to registration. Notification of the results will be sent to submitters on or before April 15, 2026.
- Presentation format: ICN 2026 has reserved 114 slots for presentations selected from all submitted abstracts. Please indicate your preferred format of presentation or if you would like to be considered for both. Kindly note that if your contribution is not selected for a talk, you will still be eligible for a poster presentation if both options are indicated.
- Abstract Topics: Submissions should indicate which of the topics below best fits their presentation.
- Auditory systems and acoustic signaling
- Electrosensory systems
- Evolution and development
- earning, memory and cognition
- Mechano- & anemosensation, thermo- & hygroreception, nociception
- Metabolism, biological rhythms and homeostasis
- Methods and education
- Motor systems, sensorimotor integration and behavior
- Olfaction, taste and chemical sensing
- Social behavior and neuromodulation
- Spatial orientation and navigation
- Vision and photoreception
- Other
- Abstract Length: The title of the abstract must not exceed 90 characters, including spaces. The abstract text should not exceed 2000 characters including spaces.
- Science Slam: For the first time, six participants will have the opportunity to present their findings in the form of a Science Slam (see info about this new event on the conference page). Note, the selection of Science Slam contributions will be made independently of the selection for presentation format indicated above. If your presentation is chosen for a Science Slam, you may still give a poster or talk on your work as well. Please indicate on the submission form whether you would like to be considered.
- Award applications: If you plan to apply for a Heiligenberg Student Travel Award or a Young Investigator Award, please indicate in this form if you are a United States citizen or permanent resident, as some of our grant support is restricted. Please also indicate if you reside inside or outside of the United States, as some of our sources of funding can be awarded only to individuals living outside of the United States. Note that your answer to these questions will not in any way affect your eligibility for ISN awards.
