What is a Science Slam?

A Science Slam is a fun event where scientists present their own research in short, entertaining, talks. The aim is to make complex science accessible and engaging. This is your chance to present your work in a popularized, entertaining format accessible to everyone in a festive event in the main lecture hall. You’ll have 7 minutes to captivate the audience, spark curiosity, and show why your research matters.

Why participate?

  • Coaching included! You’ll receive expert guidance from Anna Stöckl, a FameLab finalist and skilled science communicator, to help you craft a compelling and memorable talk. Learn more about Anna here: https://www.annastoeckl.com/science-communication
  • Visibility & Impact: Practice reaching a broad audience and make your science better known beyond the academic bubble.
  • Flexibility: Participation can be combined with a poster presentation or a scientific talk—so you don’t have to choose!

Who can join?
Researchers at all academic stages—from students to professors—are welcome. If you love science and storytelling, or is up for the challenge, this is for you!
